Chapter 2, Exploring Your Personality and Major, Aug. 31-Sept.6

Chapter 2 Exploring Your Personality and Major

I was inspired reading all your blog posts on motivation.  Motivation sets the stage for success.  Many of you mentioned careers and the economy as motivators for going to college.  You are more likely to be employed and to like your career if you have an education.  One of the keys to success is what you do on a daily basis, so do a little of your homework each day and it all adds up to success.

Chapter 2 began with the Do What You Are (DWYA) personality assessment which has a 4 letter code used to summarize your personality type based on your answers in the assessment.  For example, my code is ISTJ which stands for introvert, sensing, thinking and judging type.

Posting 1:

Choose one of your letters and write 100 words about this aspect of your personality focusing on the positives of your type. Remember that one personality type is not better than any other.  Each type has different talents that can be useful in your personal or career life.  You may think that you are a combination of 2 different types.  It is OK to describe your unique combination.

Here is a sample of about 100 words:

Based on the DWYA, I am a judging type.  I know that this is true because I can only feel relaxed when things are orderly and organized.  I plan my work and think about priorities when managing my time which helps me to accomplish my goals.  I even plan out my vacations in advance and like to have everything planned so I can relax and have fun.  I have met some opposite types in my lifetime and try to appreciate their differences.  I have found that perceptive types can usually introduce an element of fun in the situation and they motivate me to be a little more spontaneous at times.  I’m still most comfortable with my plans and don’t like to change them.

Posting 2:

Read another student’s posting who has the same personality type as yours and write a response to their post.

Here is a sample response of about 100 words:

I am a judging type also.   I could relate to your need to be orderly and organized.  I generally plan my time and like to have all my things organized.  I get stressed when things are out of order.  I have also met some perceptive types and I have to admit that they drive me a little crazy.  I like your idea of appreciating their differences and just trying to have fun with them.  I know that these opposite types think I am too set in my ways.  Being a judging type has lots of positives.  I plan to major in accounting and this seems to be a natural fit for my personal strengths.

Just as a quick review, here is a brief definition of all types on DWYA.  Please review these definitions before you make your comments.

Introvert: private, likes quiet for concentration, likes to think before speaking
Extravert: social, likes variety, sometimes speaks before thinking
Sensing: works step-by-step, learns from experience, trusts what is concrete and certain
Intuitive: values imagination and innovation, focus on possibilities, creative and imaginative
Thinking: calm and objective, makes decisions based on logic, analyzes emotions, likes debate
Feeling: makes decisions based on personal values, values empathy and harmony, caring, emotional
Judging: orderly, organized, work first and play later, follows a routine, meets deadlines (Note: it does not mean to judge others!)

Perceptive: spontaneous, go with the flow, play first and do the work later, dislike routine, difficulty meeting deadlines

  1. First, but not last, I do not like to talk about myself, or about my personality; however, I will tell you a little bit about myself. Chapter two, have an excellent questions and analyzing if you do not know what are you? Or what is your personality type? It can help you to figure out your personality. Moreover, it will determine rather you are an Introvert or extrovert, sensing or intuitive, thinker, or feeler, judging or perceptive. As for me, and based on my DWYA I am an introvert person, and predominately I am kind of mixed in most cases. I can be Introvert person who likes to stay by himself or with one or two at max; however, I can be extrovert as well. Sometimes I like to hang out with view guys, go out and have fun. Moreover, I am a sensing guy who likes to do things in order. I trust what is concrete and certain? I do think of myself as thinker because I can analyze things before I do it. I think before I speak, and I learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, I can be a feeler as well because sometimes I count on my feeling to do things. Also, I am jugging person who likes to be organized and accomplish my goals. I like to get things on time and never being late. Also, (I have set my time five minutes late that way I never come late to work or to school.) Overall, I am positive person; I like to be organized and give priority to my work and school before my fun times start. I love to help others, and I think of myself as a humble person, honest, and never being a bipolar. I never judge people about what they dressed, or what is their culture, or their background. I think God only judges us because we never know what others thinks?

    1. Hey ! I am an introvert also and I agree with everything that you said. I like being by myself most times or at least two really close friends. But in the other hand I like being in big groups of friends and just going to to different places we have all never been before. Just like you, I like doing everything in order and staying well organized. I also think before I speak or act, first impressions do mean a lot. Lastly, being late is something that I really hate also, I always have to be 30 minutes early to somewhere.

  3. I am writing this for the second time because everything i wrote got deleted when I went to submit it but Based on the DWYA, I am a feeling type. I know this is true because I love to be able to help others with anything they need help with and being there to support them in anything. I am able to maintain close friendships and keep the ones that are close to me close and I love being able to support them in everything and anything they need. The close relationships I have with people are my priority and I tend to put my friendships before other things which does not always get me in the best situations but I have always been this way and love being helpful and supporting others. This is always true because of loving to help others my future job as a vetrinarian will allow me to help others and allow me to give back to my community. I do not know if I answered the question correctly but I am looking forward hearing from others.

  4. Hi class ! I'm Kelly and basde on my DWYA I am an extravert type. I know this is true after having to take this DWYA five times because it didn't seem to know my personality type. I know I am an extravert because I love meeting new people. I love conversating with others and getting to know them. Meeting knew people excites me because I was also put in a private school now that I'm attending college and every semester seeing new faces is awesome. I am the people who will start a conversation first because that is just who I am. I tend to talk to others about anything I get along with a lot of people because I feel as if I am open and I feel as if people get that vibe of me as well. Can't wait to see what everyone else put!

    1. Hey Kelly!

I am an extravert type as well. I can relate on your post, we gave lots of similarities. I was home schooled for about a year a half and I was a whole new person then and now. Meeting new people and coming across from different cultures from all over the world is so nice. It gives us a whole perspective on life and getting to know others as well.

    2. Hey Kelly. I know for a face that i’m an extrovert too! I can totally relate to you because I like to go up and start conversations with people too. All my friends always have me go up and ask people questions because they are too afraid to. I love meeting new people, I think that’s probably the best part about college. Getting to know new people and making new friends is what I live for, especially when it comes to going out and doing stuff with new people, it’s just the best.

    3. Hello Kelly, according to both of our DWYA reports, we seem to have a similar personality, and we are an extravert type. We both tend to be very social and like to be surrounded with people all the times. We also like to meet new people all the times and make new friends, as well as try new things more often. I totally agree with you about seeing new faces every semester at college is really awesome. Also, we both are the type that we talk to others about anything in our lives. In my opinion we are both honest and not afraid of telling the anything to others.

    6. Hey Kelly! I also have taken this assessment before, but this first time I didn’t take it so sincerely. It was just a requirement for me to graduate. So this time I took it more seriously and I admit that I truly see the extravert characteristics in myself. I as well like to talk to others first! But I get along better with those who have the same interests as me. Due to me being so social, I have already met several new people not just at school but in my social life as well. Hope to see you around school sometime.

  5. Hi class! Based on the DWYA report, I am a judger and I would say that the report was right about that. I am always trying to be on top of things and tend to feel anxious when they are not. I like being organized and sometimes friends even say I'm ocd. For example when I'm at a restaurant I like to organize everything to the side of the table and clean up in front of me when I'm all finished eating. I like to get things done as soon as they are presented to me(makes me feel relieved when I have everything done). I find myself sometimes writing out things I have to do for the day and even including the things that I have already accomplished. I definetley believe in work first play later I think when you know that things are done you can relax and enjoy yourself more. I love routines, schedules, and directions they make my life easier. After doing the report and really thinking about myself I understand why the report categorized me under certain things the way it did.

    1. Hi, I am a judger too and I believe in everything you have said because this is what I do too, we share a lot of similarities, when I go to the restaurant, I love to organize the table before i get started and after I leave even if this is not my job, I always like the people to see me as an organized so they don't talk bad after me. when I work on something and my friend ask me to hang out, I can't say yes to her because even if I like hanging out, I will still be thinking about my work and when and how I am going to complete it. So I say the same thing as you said, work now and play later.

    2. Hi Heather, I completely agree with you, work first, play later. It feels so much better to get things done and over with quickly and efficiently. It also makes me feel more accomplished because I'm managing my time more wisely with a routine. I also find that I get stressed out when things are completed on time and to the best of my ability. Staying organized and consistent is going to help us to be successful in the future with careers.

    4. Hello Heather, I am also a work first, play later person. I understand your anxiety about not being on top of things. If I put off what needs to get done, I find myself unable to relax because the obligation is in the back of my mind stressing me out the whole time. I am easily distracted and leaving things unfinished just increases my distractibility. I am very organized at work and in most aspects of my life but I do still have my problem areas (I consider the car my Mt. Everest). I want things planned out in order for them to go as well as possible and I do not do well with spontaneous changes to my plans.

  6. Based on the DWYA, I am a extravert. I can related on this on so many different levels. I love to talk and when the room is quiet, I am the first to say something to bring everyone together. Sometimes, my mouth can get me in trouble because I just speak whats on my mind without giving myself a second to think. I am straight forward and will tell anyone like it is without sounding harsh. I am the kind of person who will not lie and will not hurt anyones feelings in speaking my mind or the truth. I like taking risks because I do not want to ever go back in my life and wonder what if. Being an extravert suits me, I can be quiet at times when my mind is wondering, but I am more definitely on the extrovert side.

    1. Hi Heve, We both have the same type of DWYA. We both love to talk and since you do like to talk I'm assuming you aren't afriad to talk to new people. i think it is awesome to see that you are an extravert because this is what breaks us out of our confortzone which I believe is amazing. i just feel as though people need to do this more often to get to know those around them.

    2. Hello Heve, we both have the same DWYA type. I am really good at starting conversations with others, so are you. I love meeting people who have similar personalities as me. I am not afraid to walk to people and ask introduce my self and learn more about them. I do not like quite rooms with all shy people, instead I motivate them to talk and share information about themselves. It seems like I am the first person in class who introduces herself, I do that to make other who are shy feel comfortable. Being an extravert is great.

  7. Hi class!!!! Based on my DWYA report I am more like an extravert type because I usually like to start conversation with other people. To make them feel comfortable. I like to ask questions to be sure about what I am doing. When I have a hard time to think I usually share my thoughts with others. And gain from people experiences. Being an intuitive describes me the best because I am really focused on who I want to become. I always wonder where I will be next. I have always set goals for my future. For instance, I make a goal where I want to be next year and the ways to accomplish my goals. Doing the right and thinking about what I am doing is the most important to me. I always see the big picture of life; I imagine how things will be in the next five, ten years. I have always set time to study, work, go to the gym, and I have been following my time and it's been going really well.

  8. According to my DWYA report I am a feeling type, which i completely agree with. I chose this one to discus because i think it's the strongest part of my personality. I am very big on following your heart and doing what makes you happy. I always try to do the right thing and think about things before i do them, but i feel like you can't really do those things without considering how you feel. I believe you have to feel a certain way about something to think that way. I am passionate about everything I do. I put my all into everything. I also put others needs before mine. I am a very caring person and I get emotional about a lot of things. When I was reading the description for my personality I was surprised at how accurate it got me. It was pretty much spot on. I had considered myself a Thinker, but now I realize I am definitely a feeling type.

    1. Hi Erica, I read your comment and I would like to share my feeler type with you. I was surprised about the report and how it describes me exactly the way I am. The feeler type is the strongest part of my personality, too. I always put other needs before mine, when they need help I do my best to help them so they feel happy. I care about all people around me and love to see them happy and satisfied. I sometimes forget myself while I am taking care of others. I am very sensitive toward others, I feel very sad for their sadness and super happy for their happiness. :)

  9. According to my DWYA report, I am a judger person and the report was right about that, I always like to organize everything around me before I get started doing something, I put my responsibilities and my work first so I can relax and have fun later. For example, when I work on something important and I see that everything around me is messed up, I try to organize it so I can start doing what I was working on.

I can't really imagine my small world is messed up. When people look at you as an organize person, they are going to like you for sure because people always like the one who's organized and orderly and this person in their eyes will be the best in everything he does.

    1. Hello Dina! I too was described as a judger. I find being an organized person who prefers to stay on task as well as get things done in a timely and orderly fashion will lead me into being a successful person. I agree with you in saying that you prefer putting your work and other responsibilities first and getting them done so that you can give yourself time to relax and take your mind away from stress. I believe that being organized is a great trait to have and will assist you while on your journey of working to achieve your goals and accomplishments!

Being organized is really important and will help you in many different ways, especially if you are trying to focus and everything around you is organized there is no way you can get distracted by looking at stuff around you. When I did my DWYA report the results I got was being a judger and it is true, because if I wasn't a judger I would be able to attend school and work. I try to stay organized at all times because it helps me maintain good work.

  10. Based on the DWYA, I am a perceptive person. I like to just go with the flow and do spontaneous things. I do not like sticking to or following a schedule, I just like to do fun things. When it comes to doing homework or any projects I have a hard time starting them early because I just like to push them off so I can just have fun or go out and do something crazy. I know people that are the judging type, all organized and everything but it just doesn’t seem like that much fun to have everything be on a schedule and have everything that you wanna do planned out to the last second. I feel like it is more fun to be spontaneous and just do whatever you feel like doing.

    1. Hey Alex I'm a J/P combo personality and I hate structured environments! I feel that with an air-tight schedule and set of rules there's no room to breathe. Spontaneity is great especially when making plans for your leisure time. Being a "flowy" person and going along with whatever happens is the best way to approach unexpected situations. Why waste negative energy freaking out over an end result you can't do anything about? Just go with it and make it work out the best way possible. I used to have issues with procrastination, my advice is to prioritize! Make to-do lists every day, if that seems too tedious set reminders every day to get little bits of the big assignment done. Baby steps is often the first step as we read in Chapter 1 about motivation (:

    2. It is good to hear from perceptive types and read the descriptions of how they view life differently from the orderly and organized types. Setting priorities is a great way for perceptive types to accomplish their goals.

  11. Based on DWYA, I am a judging type person. I like to do things orderly. for example, when I am at work, I start doing the paper works, counting the finance and checking the inventory. This way of doing things helps me a lot with not getting any problems at work and it also makes things go easily and on time without putting more effort on them. Beside to all of the above, this orderly way of working has become my usual routine that I can't change because I got used to be organized and arranged. And also at school, I have a specific routine that I keep myself on track with on it. I like to do all my homework on time and never be late because the late work stresses me and nervous me really much.

    1. Hi Zina, I am also the judging type of person, and surprisingly the Do What You Are was extremely accurate. I also cannot change this habit of being organized because once I see something in the wrong place, I immediately have to go to it and fix it. I think that if I was not as organized as I am today, I would not be able to keep up with any of my work at school or even at home when I need to have things done. it was awesome being able to read about how you are the judging type!

  12. Based on my DWYA results, I am a judging type. I am a very organized person, who likes to complete things on time and in an orderly fashion. I generally prefer to set goals and work towards them. I try to stay focused and work steadily to complete my tasks. I feel comfortable with a routine, because it allows me to manage my time more efficiently and get things done quicker. Generally, I prefer to finish one project before starting the next, and I like to accomplish all my goals on time.

  13. According to my DWYA results, I am an introvert person, however, it really does depends on the situation or setting that I am at. I am a very conservative and private person when it comes to myself. I am by myself most times because I love being in a quiet environment especially when it comes to things related to school or tasks I have to do and accomplish. I enjoy the quietness and I get better concentration, it's easy for me to get distracted when there is people around. Another way in which I am private is when it comes to myself or my feelings. I usually keep things to myself and don't like getting people involved in my problems because it makes the situations worse. In the other hand, when I am at work for example, I tend to be really outgoing and fun. I love making new friends at talking to a lot of people. Lastly, I work step by step on everything that I do, I am a very well organized person, and I believe that is a trait we need in order to succeed.

Except when I go to work I am very outgoing and bubbly. I have alot of fun with my coworkers and people that come to my work. It depends on the situation. I don't like people in my personal life business nor do I like to be in other people personal life. I enjoy being in large crowds at times or even being the center of attention. But most of the time not at all.

I do also get distracted easily that is why I usually like to work on a project alone or with a very small group.

  15. So I took this assessment two years ago as a senior in high school. By using the comparison of my scores then and now, there was only one discrepancy in how I dealt with the external setting around me. I originally was tested as a perceiver, giving me an INTP personality type. But now I tested as a judger, making me an INTJ personality. After some deep analysis, I’ve concluded that I’m a unique combination of the two. As a judger I like being on time and focusing on work first so I can reward myself later with leisure activities. Getting to class and work on time is just a positive indicator of what kind of day I have ahead of me. Finishing my workload before going out with friends or just relaxing alone is how I prefer to conquer my responsibilities. I like having some structure in a work or school environment, but it’s much more intriguing when answers are open-ended. Then you can hear other individuals’ thoughts and ideas on a specific question. This is where my perceiver personality comes through. I love to be flexible with how events occur instead of becoming frustrated at an unchangeable outcome. Leaving room for changes is very important to me because you never know what life will throw in your way. Working at my own pace, creating a flawless finished result, is more productive than meeting a deadline and rushing to finish with a sloppy incomplete end result. These are just a couple of examples of how I’m a strange combination of these two very different personality types.

For example, I love talking about sports when I see people that were jerseys I always ask them questions about the team and just talk about sports. I also am really organized when it comes down to work and school. For school, I have a planner and always make sure work is done at least 3 days before and know were all my papers are at all times. For work, I always work step by step.

  17. After completing the Do What You Are in chapter 2, I came to the conclusion that I am a judger. This is true to me because I find myself being well organized when it comes to having my room clean to my car and especially my backpack with all of my notebooks and notes organized in a specific way. I have always been like this because I like to make sure that all of my things are in order for myself to know where I had put them last. If I was not like this, I would be lost almost everyday trying to figure out where some of my favorite things were placed.

    1. Same here! I relate a lot to this too because i have to keep my room and car cleaned no matter what. Honestly, not having things organized makes me lost as well. It takes forever for me to remember where I have put my things or made a not to it. I sometimes tend to put more effor to being oranized but I am trying not to because i barely have time now because of school and work.

  18. Hello class! How are you guys doing? well here is what my DWYA report says, I am a judger and I actually agree with that. I would say that the report was right about that. I always try to be organized and be on top of things and tend to feel uncomfortable when they are not. I like being organized and have things well planned out. Sometimes my family/ friends say that i have ocd from having things organized all the time. I like to get things done as soon as they are presented to me because I like having them done early instead of rushing on it later. Having my room, work place or even school organized makes me more successful in a way that everything is well done and ready on time.

  20. Hello everybody,
According to my DWYA report, I am a down to earth person who is willing to help anybody at anytime and do anything to make the people who surround me very happy. Helping others makes me the happiest as well and I love to do it as much as I possibly can. I always give more than I get. When I help others, I do not expect anything in return, I do it because it makes me feel good about myself and makes me appreciate the things and the people around me much more than I usually do. Being a giver, I feel that it makes me different than other people. It makes me the one that people are always willing to know and become friends with. It also makes people trust me more and always ask me for advices that could help because they know I am always there for them willing to do anything at anytime.

  21. After completing the DWYA report the final results concluded that I am a judger. I agree with this statement because I do like to keep my schedule organized and I always tend to write every test and assignment date down in order to help keep myself on task and on top of my school work. I find myself following routines verses going with the flow and doing certain tasks in a non orderly fashion. Being a judger has really increased my ability to do well in school as well as decrease my level of stress because I am not overwhelmed with struggling to complete an assignment last minute because I try to work ahead and follow my written schedule to remain on task.

  22. Hello, according to my DWYA report , I am an introvert type of person. I know this is true because I like to have a couple of really close friends and I like to do most of my work either alone or with a small group of people. I like having some time alone to relax and think or work on something. I consider myself an organized person, I enjoy quietness a lot but in the same time I do enjoy hanging out with friends and having some fun. I like to work without interruptions and I like to focus on a project until it is complete. I am a quit person and I like to listen and absorb more than I talk.

  23. According to my DWYA Report, I am a ISFP. This stands for Introvert, Sensor, Feeler, and Perceiver. Most of my results were true. I am an introvert. I only have a few close friends and I am not very social. I like small groups. I like my alone time but I also like hanging out with my friends every once in a while. According to my results I am not well organized and I disagree because I am really clean and neat and organized with most things. The only thing that I am not very well organized with is school. I need to not do assignments last minute. Depending on what it is, I either like to finish and be complete or for example I will do half of my assignment and then finish it later. And I am in the middle with the Sensor and Intuitive because I will trust my instincts and other times I will just believe what I see or hear.

    1. Hi Naomi,
Your DWYA Report was almost the same as mine, I was a INFP. I'm the same way when it comes to social situations. I prefer being in a small group, if I do go out. My alone time is very important to me, but I agree, it is nice to hang out with friends time and again.

    2. Hello Naomi! I too resulted in a perceiver and feeler. I sometimes tend to put things aside and procrasinate. Trusting my instincts is something I lean towards doing most of the time yet I also go with being logical at times. I am one to listen to my inner consciousness in hope that it is right. My results also said that I am unorganized but I feel as though I lean on both! I am in between those two. I agree in that I also love having alone time to myself but I enjoy hanging out and being with friends as well.

  25. I am an introvert, which is mostly correct based off of the fact the I value the time that I get to myself to relax and just have alone time. I enjoy doing things in a spontaneous way which makes me a perceiver. I never plan things out because 4/5 times they don't go as planned. I plan on studying mechanical engineering so that way I can become either a Petroleum Engineer or a Mechanical Engineer.

  27. According to my DWYA report I am an introvert. I did fall near the center of introvert and extrovert but was more on the introvert side. I feel this was an accurate description as I tend to look for any opportunity to complete activities on my own. Whether it be reading, arts and crafts or hiking with my dog. I tend to have a small circle of close friends rather than a large number of friends that are more like acquaintances. While I may be shy and reserved upon first meeting someone new, once I get more comfortable with someone, the more I open up. I often reflect on the tasks at hand to ensure I am making the best decision.

    1. I am also an introvert. I like to be alone because of the limits on distractions when it comes to doing my work or something that i want to focus on. If anything i would like to have a small group of one or two people with me. We can get down to what we need to focus on and all help each other without too much sidetracking.

  28. Hello, I am predominately an introvert. I love to be alone and perhaps this is because since having my first child five and a half years ago and another one a year and a half later, I am almost never alone. I enjoy my own company and cannot comprehend boredom. I like to keep my own counsel and being a perfectionist, I tend to see mistakes that others have not seen. I love to read and learn and I spend my occasional free time doing both - quietly. However, when I do engage in conversation, I am a rather open person. I do not like to lie and I will answer most any question about myself. I suppose I figure this is who I am and since I like who I am, I have no problem talking about myself. This also stems from the fact that I am desperate to be understood and am always hoping that someone else will be able to relate. I also hate the idea of someone getting the wrong impression about me because I failed to disclose a detail that would have caused them to come to a different conclusion.

  29. For my results of the DWYA assessment, I was told I am an extravert and I agree with it 100%. I am a very easygoing, friendly, and happy go lucky kind of person. I tend to start conversations with people first because that was just how I was raised, as well as it is part of my job. I love to adventure; wither it is traveling or just trying a new activity. I am always up to trying something new. I also tend to be more spontaneous rather than to be planned out. To me, it is more fun that way!

    1. Hi Chrissy,
I'm totally the same. I love taking risks and being adventurous, and I can agree that just in general trying something new is fun and exciting. Talking with people is fun in itself too, because then you can expand your circle of friends. One way that I am outgoing is by trying to do something new every minute I have handy. Whether it's drawing or going on a hike, I love getting out there and experiencing as much as possible. People tell me I am very welcoming, that they can trust me with things they wouldn't normally trust other people with. Being spontaneous, I couldn't agree more with how fun it is, sometimes it's even humorous. My letters are ENFP, what are yours?

  30. I am n ISFJ. According to these results i am the judging type. This doesn't mean i judge others, it means i like to be organized. I like to keep things i order and have things planned. Finding things easier is a benefit of being organized. There's no hassle and no having to worry about finding something. I tell my self, work first play later. Getting priorities done first then doing fun stuff is much easier than doing it the other way around because you don't have to worry about what you have to get done and then have to manage time carefully.

    1. Hey Carlos Morales,
I am aslo a judging type. I love to be organized with all of my things. I really do agree with you about it making things easier to find. It makes my life easier when I go back and look for things. Also with the "do work play later" idea is so true. It makes things easier for me when I finish my assignments earlier so that I dont have to worry about them and I can go do my other assignments.

  31. Hello class,
According to the DWYA assessment, My personality is a judging type. I have to agree with the assessment because I really am a organized person. I have all my classes in a binder but each in different section to keep them separated. Anytime a go grocery shopping I make a list before I go so that I am not in store for long, and thinking about what I need and what I do not need.I like to finish assignments before they are do so I can not have to worry about them and I can go focus on something else that I need to do. Even with my room, it has to be clean and organized at all times, if not than it makes me mad and it irritates me. Also with my car it is always clean and organized. the trunk is always clean. Honestly being organized help out so much with school and life because its makes things so much easier when you are looking for something in your room or even a file online.

  32. Based on the DWYA, I am a feeling type. This is true because my emotions, rather than logic, drive my decisions. Everything I do is motivated by how it will affect others around me. At work I try to get along with everyone. If there's tension between my coworkers or my friends it negatively affects me. The relationships I establish are incredibly important to me and I strive to make sure that my friends are always happy, even if it's at my own expense. I comprise a great deal for those close to me. Their happiness is always my priority.

  33. According to my DWYA report, I am the intuitive type. I tend to listen to my inner consciousness and instincts. I like doing spontaneous things and tend to get sick of the same routine. Instead of planning things ahead of time and I like going with the flow and doing things in the moment. I am always up for any new experiences and also love surprises. Making decisions is a struggle because I find many interesting options calling me at once. Some drawbacks are that I tend to have difficult time committing to something or at times having trouble being organized.

    1. I am also an Intuitive type. I tend to listen to my inner imagination and think over the future. I also like being spontaneous and going with the flow rather than planning. I’m not a great planner. Making decisions are a struggle for me to, for the same reason. So many things just jump into my mind, it takes me a while to make a decision. Even after giving me answer I still think of the what ifs. My major drawbacks are commitment, organizing, over thinking the future and actually doing the things I think about. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.

  34. Based on the DWYA, I am an Introvert type. I’ve gotten this same result every time i have taken the Myers-Briggs assessment. I believe this assessment to be true as I enjoy quiet time alone exponentially more than being with a large group of people. I feel drained after being in a crowd. I have met a large amount of opposites in my life. In fact my best friend is an extrovert. While I don’t quite enjoy going out and about meeting new people, which is good for you, she does and she always takes me along. She motivates me to be more sociable. Though I’m still most comfortable alone in my room reading a good book!

    1. Hello Liza,
I also found out that I'm an introvert... well I've known for awhile now. I do enjoy to spend most, not all, of my time alone. I feel as if being an introvert comes with many limitations, such as difficulty in truly speaking your mind to other people. Though, you do get to know yourself better, that's for sure. Do what you are most comfortable with, even if that means to spend some alone time.

    2. There are very many positive qualities of introverts and high paying occupations too. Introverts can focus and get the job done. Many introverts are good at technology, engineering and other occupations that require focus. Yes, sometimes it is difficult for introverts to speak up, but the positives are more than the negatives.

  35. Based on what my DWYA report told me, I have an extroverted intuition with introverted feeling. I love being risky and adventurous, because putting myself out there and being spontaneous is what I love to do. I like meeting new people and expanding my circle of friends. I tend to talk a lot and it can be a problem sometimes, however, people know that they can trust me with their secrets. I am extremely outgoing, crazily enthusiastic, and in general fun to be around. I never really like making set in stone decisions, I like to be flexible in case something happens that way I am not severely thrown off course. I have always lived in what people called my "ti-dye" world, where everything is the opposite of what it really is. This helps with my artistic nature, because then I can draw what I see and people can't judge because they think it's pretty too.

  36. Based on the DWYA, I'm considered to be the "feeler" type. I knew this was true since I do like to maintain close and personal relationships. I feel comfortable to be with people that I've known for a long time. I do find importance in a friendly and relaxed environment. It helps me to stay calm and focused since I know nothing serious will go wrong. Also, working in a friendly environment gets rid of that fear of making a mistake, one can just kindly help out. I find myself helping others occasionally, such as in school, I guess I do not want to see people fail because of how much I care. I definitely appreciate people who put in hard work because I find it important to do your best, no matter what circumstances.

    1. Hi Daniel, I can relate to your type even though I got the thinking type. Similarly, I do value relationships but I keep my friends to a minimum. I tend to feel like it is easier to maintain and stay connected that way. However, I too like to help people out, whether school or work, because I feel like I just naturally have a mother instinct and I want people to succeed and be happy. Also, I too feel that hard work is important; that is one thing my results touched on. Great job Daniel!

  37. As a result of the DWYA test I am an extravert. This is very true for me because extraverts are outgoing people. Although I received this result, I do believe that I am also equally an introvert. I don't exactly like to be the center of attention like most extraverts but I don't mind it if it is necessary for my job or class. I, like most introverts, like to work alone at times and enjoy the peace and quite when I'm by myself. I might even go as far as saying that I prefer it most days. Extroverts do tend to be good with communication which is one thing that I know I am good at (whether in a relationship, in class, or at work). I definitely wouldn't go as far to say that I am reserved like my opposite (introvert) but I do really like the quiet like they do. Although being an extrovert, I do like variety and action, as well absent capable of presenting ideas to a group.

  38. Based on the results of the DWYA it indicated that i was a thinker. I like to use logical analysis in making decisions. It indicates that i am objective and rational and i treat other fairly. I want logical reasons before accepting any new ideas. Which is true. For instence, when people tell me something and want me to believe it, i will need some reasoning before i accept the fact. It also tells me that i follow policy and i am often firm- minded and critical, especially when dealing with illogic in others.
