  1. Post 1 : Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?
So far, this semester is great for me. I know it’s never going to be easy. It takes a lot of time so I always have to do school work first then do personal things because I really am focused this semester. In the past I had a few things holding me back and I was not emotionally stable to be in school. But as time went by my wounds were healed and I was able to come back to school and focus on what needs to be done. It’s difficult here and there because I am taking 14 units and every week I have a exam so it’s hard to study for each class and to actually pass it. I do not want to waste any time with my classes because I’m already starting it and failing is not an option for me. I want to make sure I will pass these classes and put in 100% in it.

Post 2: What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?
I would tell my friend before the interview starts to practice answers and focus. Giving impressive answers and being confident is what the interviewer is always looking for. Of course, appearance and the way they introduce themselves is always the first impression they usually get. So looking sharp and using correct and professional language will definitely be a perk as well. Also, avoid using long awkward silence and moving in your seat. That just shows how nervous they are. Using eye contact and hand gestures gives the interviewer a hence of interest.

So after using the assist.org and the cuyamaca transfer center sites its gave me a piece of mind of what classes I need to take to not only complete my G.E but to transfer to SDSU as well. I thought it was very interesting that it was less classes than I actually anticipated. It gives me options of which math classes I want to actually choose from and allows me to keep my options opened.

  2. Post #1: Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?
Coming into this semester I felt as though I was going to have a fun and crazy semester but it is probably the most challenging and overwhelming semester I will be in at Cuyamaca College. Each semester gets harder and harder and I know I will I'm going to get through it but it will take time and a lot of effort. The challenges I have are probably having to balance school, volleyball, and work. All of theses aspects have made it hard for because it is not easy being an athlete, full time student, and working part time. The way I see this semester is it is challenging but I know I'm going to be able to get through by planning my schedule efficiently. Planning what to do each and every day and having to follow the schedule on time is tough because if something doesn’t work out its hard to make up that time. The way I deal with this is by accepting the challenge. The challenge of going to school, work, and volleyball practice, I accept it because I know that it will make me a better person. This semester has not been easy for me but I can only improve from this point on.

    1. Hello Kelly,
Trust me everyone is facing almost the same thing that you face. Lots of students, going to school with full time job. However, some pass their classes and others might not. I can tell you one thing, I know couple guys who do not even have house to stay in, they work full time and their money goes to their families, but they doing perfect in their classes. So, I wish you the best and keep it up. Likewise, I love sport and I am an athlete, and now with all these classes, I set 45 minutes of my time to work out. Overall, I think you doing perfect, and I can see it from your responding.

Objective: responding to Post #1: Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?
Even though I am facing a lot of challenges in this semester, I am doing good and hoping to obtain an A. In all my previous classes, I struggled lot I took Spanish and failed, as a result, my GPA dropped all the way down (. Therefore, I am doing my best in this semester. I am trying to raise my GPA. Also, this semester is a big challenge for me; however, I am staying on the top of my classes because I do not know what May going to happen tomorrow. A couple of the challenges I am facing over here, is the internet. The internet over here in Iraq is really slow, and sometimes it can stop suddenly and when comes back, I have to retype everything especially when typing the journals. Also, when I take the quizzes, suddenly stops and I have to wait for an hour or the next day or maybe two days later, as a result, when I read the questions, I forget the answers. Likewise, it can stops for three days or a week. This issue is delaying my homework and making me stress. On the other hand, I have to deal will these challenges because I know at the end, this education will benefit me in my future, and I have a goal in my life. Because I know lot of my millennial generation are doing good. Overall, even though I am facing challenges and you might face different challenges, I recommend you to stay focused and try to do your best to earn A in this class.
Good luck to all of us.

  4. So far this semester is going well for me. I am doing well in all of my classes and I plan on keeping it that way. I've been able to stay on track and keep myself from falling behind. A roadblock I've come across is working in the heat. Its difficult for me to concentrate on my school work when it is so hot. So I pack up everything i need for my school work and I go to the local library. It is a perfect place for me to stay cool while doing my work. Other than that I am enjoying this semester and I'm proud of myself for staying organized and on task.

  5. Some tips I would give my friend before an interview would be dress to impress, be yourself, and don't be too nervous. I'd suggest dressing the best to impress for whatever the job is. You should professional, neat, and according to the job. Being too nervous can really bring down the interview. My very first interview was at a fast food restaurant and I was so nervous I didn't make eye contact or speak clearly. Needless to say, I didn't get the job. Being yourself and being honest is the best way to go. Don't make something up or over exaggerate your skills and talents. If you do get the job and they find out you lied, well that isn't going to end so well.

  6. Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?

As of right now this semester is going well for me. It was a little rough for me at first because I just got back into school after being away from it for awhile. I am taking all online classes and working full time at a salon. The fact that I get to set my own hours and mark out at work when I know I need to complete school work helps me a lot. It was hard for me trying to get the hang of online classes and figuring out these websites and how they how work I finally feel more comfortable with them and am able to navigate around them better. When I first started I didn't know how to send papers in or where to look for assignments that are due and that gave me a lot of anxiety when I realized something was due or needed to be turned in soon. I believe everything takes patience and with time everything will become more clear. My goal is to try to maintain good grades and as of now I feel like I've been good about keeping myself on track. Balancing school and work is a little hard but I believe that it is worth it. In the last few weeks, I have learned to set a routine for myself and that is how I am dealing with everything. I also get stressed out easily and I've found ways that calm my nerves down and looking back at things that I was so stressed about is silly to me. Overall this semester has been good and I'm hoping that it remains this way.

  7. This semester has been good and bad for me. The classes I have taken have been pretty easy. I have had a couple road blocks though. English is a very hard subject for me and this year I am taking English 124 which has been very hard for me. We have done some research essays that have been confusing for me which creates a road block for me. Some ways I have been getting around this road block is going to the tutoring center that Cuyamaca offers. The tutors are really smart and help full. I also email my teacher and ask her if I can meet up with her before class or after so she can explain and help me out with it. Other way I also get help is from my sister who is an English teacher and she usually helps me out . I also always want to quit when I get to these road blocks but I always motivate my self not to and I always keep on going. Other then that this semester has been good so far.

  8. This semester is very stressful but I am doing things I have never done before which makes me very proud of myself. I never once, the whole time I went to college the first time (I did get my bachelors, it just took 6 years), I never started or turned in a project or paper or test or studied before the last minute (and to be completely honest, all of those things were usually turned in after they were due). I left everything to the last minute because I was so scared it wasn’t going to be perfect, so logically, I procrastinated to ensure they wouldn’t even be close (sarcasm). The first time around all I had to do was go to college full time and I had the occasional part-time job that never lasted more than a few months. Basically I was a large irresponsible child pretending to be an adult. This time, I have two small children and a very large one I am married to. It is much harder this time around because now I have tons of responsibilities that I would never have imagined having 10 years ago. Luckily, I am a different person now. So while it’s more challenging, it is also much more important to me. This time around I want to actually learn the material rather than just pass the test (not that I don’t want that too). My biggest roadblock to learning all the material rather than just dumping it in my short-term memory is finding the time to go over it. Little children and large children, can only let you be for so long before they demand your attention again. I have problems concentrating too, so getting myself in the right frame of mind to concentrate and then getting that to coincide with the children being distracted is very difficult. I have set us all up with desks to that each day we can all go to our desks to do “homework.” My husband has become much more understanding about giving me time to do my work. So it’s coming along and I will just keep on trying my best because this time I actually believe I can do it, opposed to last time where I just sorta crossed my fingers and just really hoped I was going to be able to.

  10. (1) Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?

I was very lazy at the beginning of the semester and I didn't do too well with the first assignment that was given out in my English 98 class, but it is almost the middle of the semester and I am doing just fine. I am getting back into the swing of things. I am making sure to take time and get my assignments done. I am also studying for upcoming tests and quizzes.

    (2) What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?

I have experience with interviews and I have also been given tips by people I know. So I believe that I have good tips to give someone who is heading to an interview. Make sure to dress nice. It does not matter where you are applying to, always dress professionally. It's very sloppy and unprofessional to show up in casual clothes or pajamas. Wear a nice dress or pants suit. It looks more professional and you look more serious about getting the job. Another thing is to know the background and a little bit of the history of the place. Sometimes the interviewer will ask if you know anything about the history. Don't be nervous. You won't be paying any attention if you are nervous, so think happy thoughts and you will do well.

  11. I think the semester is going pretty well overall. I think one of the challenges I am facing this semester is the fact that I have been procrastinating a lot of assignments. I think that it is hard for me to stay focused on doing so much work because I always want to do things. I know that I need to do the assignment but the inside of me is just telling me to go and do the fun thing. I can deal with this roadblock by rewarding myself for doing the work first, but I have tried that before and it didn’t work but I know that if I keep trying this system out it will eventually work.

  12. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?

I would tell my friend to be very confident in themselves because businesses want their workers to be confident. I would also say that they should be enthusiastic, especially if they are applying for a job where they are going to be around people all of the time. Also to dress in a way that is professional but makes them feel confident because confidence is they key to success in all things you do. I would also tell them not to use any unprofessional language because it makes you sound like you are not taking the interview very seriously.

I have been getting help from my teachers, whenever I have a question I directly contact my teachers or a classmate to be sure I am on track. For this reason I have not been facing any challenges in school So far this semester is great. I have not been facing many difficulties, because I am always ahead of the game and finishing my work on time. I was attending University so the work I am used to being in school and doing a lot of studying and homework’s. The struggle I have been having is working on my exam days. I like to have enough time to study for my test, especially the day of the test. Going to college and working at the same time is difficult and needs efforts and time management. Everything in life is challenging and need a person who knows what is best for them can get through it. I have been facing difficulties doing that because of my work, I had to find a solution. I went to my manager after getting down the testing days from my syllabus and gave her the days I want to schedule off. She really understood and gave me those days off so I could have enough time to be prepared for my test. I am a good time manager so that helps me a lot with facing difficulties.

For me as a first semester, this semester is going very well with me, I liked it so far, everything is going as I wished and maybe better. I am doing well on my classes, for me I was scared when I first opened my BB, I didn't know anything at the beginning, I just said I am going to drop the classes because I am taking 3 online classes and another one is coming up on October, so I was struggling when I get started, but after I used to it, I feel very comfortable now, I have no fears to take more classes, I will still do my best to reach my goal.
Currently, I am not facing or challenging with anything, everything is perfect for me, I am doing my assignments and my quizzes as best as I can. If I want to accomplish something important in my life, I have to keep my fears away and do my best to open the doors that will let me reach all I want in the future. I am dealing with everything I am facing by using the confidence that I have in my self and the pressure that I put on myself to not give up and be positive all the time.

  16. I would give a friend some pretty important advice on applying on a job. I would tell them to have a well organized resume to show the employer that they are organized. The resume would highlight his skills, talents, awards, and education levels. It would provide his address, contact information, his name of course, and references for the employer to contact if they had any questions for the person applying for the job. A cover letter will be necessary for a better chance for the interview with the resume attached. Also i would tell him to prepare himself for the questions and prepare his answer.

  17. I feel pretty confident about my classes so far, despite some challenges I have already encountered in the past 6 weeks of the fall semester. I took a year off after my high school graduation so I am still trying to find a happy medium for balancing work, school, and my social life. In the past three months, my brother has been in and out of mental health facilities. I was a little discouraged in the beginning to even attempt to come back to school at all. Everything seemed to be alright when I started college, everyone in my household was functioning as normal. Recently I have been on my own, cooking and picking up after myself since my parents are gone for long hours between work and visiting my brother. I do not mind being alone but I have been losing motivation to do my school work. I just want to help him but I know he is beyond needing just my support. I am nervous that my high grades in my three courses will fall drastically because I am losing focus on my studies. All I can do at this point is try to stay positive and try my best to prioritize what is best for me.

  18. New developments in biology and technology go hand in hand with new green careers for the future. Since I am passionate about the environment and working towards preserving our planet, more advances in this field will help me decide if it is really what I want to do for the rest of my life. For instance, my friend told me the other day that scientists have developed a synthetic leaf that takes in carbon dioxide and, instead of producing oxygen, it produces fuels that we can utilize to run our modern day machinery. I think it is astounding that the scientists of the world are starting to find ways where we can use our carbon emissions for a better use. Time will only tell if this specific method will be successful or cause more harm than good. The future of humankind will depend on how we start trying to solve the environmental problems we have caused in the past and present. I feel that I can help make a difference if I decide to pursue a career in environmental science.

  19. This semester is going good so far; my grades are still good and still have A in all my classes. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have roadblocks. One of my roadblocks is math class. This semester I am taking the last math which is statistics that I need for my Nursing major. I love math. I have never had a problem with it and I got A in math in all my last three semesters, but I am afraid I could keep it up this semester too. I am having a difficulty in understanding the material. Statistic math has many rules that they all look the same and we have to know which one is correct o solve the problems. This is being kind of hard especially because of the professor. My math’s professor is not really good and sometimes she doesn’t know answer my questions and she replies by “I don’t know”. However, I am doing my best to be successful with high grade as I used too. Beside the math, my other roadblock is my job. My job takes a lot of my time. I work 32 hours a week which is not few for a full time student, especially because I am taking prerequisite classes, and since I can’t work less days because I need money, I also can’t take less classes because that would take me longer to graduate. Overall, I am still doing my best to stay strong and work hard and hard in all my classes.

This semester is going really well for me. As I began this semester I had different thoughts about college, I expected work to be harder and thought college was going to be really time consuming. However, it is not as bad, I put enough time into my work and yet still have plenty of time to do other activities. I think that the only challenges I would be facing right now are obstacles having to do with my personal life... School wise, is that I have to stop leaving school work till last minute, I tend to procrastinate because I have a couple days to do my homework then I end up rushing things and all the work adds up. That is a habit I actually worked on on the habit project but I am still working on it and trying to get out of those bad ways. I could deal with this by keeping up with an organized schedule and dividing my work into different days so everything could be completed by the day it's due.

At the beginning of this semester, I was having doubts because I realized that I was still going to be attending high school, while taking two college courses. I began to worry and stress out because I began to think of all the hard work I was going to have to put in to achieve good grades on tests and assignments in all of my courses. I also began to worry that I wasn't going to have much leisure time or time for my friends and family. However, after starting all my classes, I have been extremely grateful for the experience of understanding how to manage my time more efficiently, and I am proud of myself for doing more than the minimum. I do not regret pushing myself past my limits in order to get ahead and complete more courses. I have learned to overcome my stress as a roadblock, because I know that this process is most beneficial for myself. I also believe that this experience has made me more responsible, and that I now understand what it is like to work hard and put your full effort into something. So far I am doing well in all of my courses and this process has made me more confident of the success I hope to gain someday in the future.

  23. This semester has been really tough and contains a lot of stress. I am taking 5 classes not including the 2 that I already finished in the summer. My hardest class in this semester is business 120 that class makes me very confused and lost. I do not even know where to begin with it. She does not do any exams just quizzes and finales, which makes it even tougher. My second hardest class is CIS 110. The teacher is very strict and asks for a lot of homework. The class also is a 4 hours class and he makes us work so hard in those 4 hours to the point where we get really exhausted. Other than those two classes, I really like and enjoy my other 3 classes. They are so much fun to be in and very interesting, and enjoyable. I actually learn a lot of new things in my classes, things about myself and about the world, which makes everything a lot more interesting that it is. My goal for this semester is to maintain the highest grades possible in order to raise my GPA because my plan is to apply to San Diego State University next fall.

I would tell them to first do research on the types of question they are most likely going to ask so that they are well prepared beforehand. Incorporating this research into the questions they answer is also a good choice. Practice is also a major key to being successful. Making sure they are punctual is very important. I would also say to make sure they are well put together and to just relax during the interview.

  27. Job interview is one of the most important elements in the job search process.
an advice i would give for a friend is that he should first make a research for the company or the place that he is going to work in so he would have a good ideas about the kind of work and what they need . another good tip would be that a friend should understood the requirements of the job and what kind of experience the job need and then just Mentions and make sure to explain the experience that he has which match the job requirement.also a friend need to be confidence so he believe in him self that he could make it in the better way so he would feel more comfortable about the interview .

    1. I agree with you I would do the same as you, if a friend was looking for a job I would start of by telling him about a successful resume. I would begin by telling her what an adequate resume includes such as contact information, brief summary of career objective, summary of education and work experience, special skills or achievements and references. I would then go into detail and tell her about each one specifically. Afterwards, I would tell her about the cover letter and tell her what it includes. Lastly, I would giver her some helpful tips about having an interview such as making a good impression and do really good research on the job she is applying that way she knows how to successfully answer the questions asked. But yea going more into detail about each particular section would also help them a lot more.

This semester is stressful because i had a bunch of staff to do, to much homework need to be done, so it is little hard to go throw everything, but anyway it is going better than last semester . what is the most important thing that i had a problem with is how to organize my time so i need to organize enough time to do every thing from the home work to home duties to work out side to the kids because it is so hard to handle. after the first tow months i believe it is working good i am being more organizing , active and more thinkable i feel that because it is my first time that i am having all this to do and i am working on it so i could have a better life and more successful.

  29. Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?

This semester has been one of the busiest semesters I’ve ever went through so far. Started with 12 units. At first it was not that bad because everything was light and there was not a lot of volume of homework. I currently work full time as well And do have a family business to help running. So working 40 hours a week, plus managing a business and doing school is not the easiest thing I have done so far. How ever I am doing my best to keep on track and not losing focus on my work. One of the challenges or roadblocks I had Last semester was transportations, going from work to school and being able to manage all that and being on time to class, not considering all the traffic and what not. So Thankfully I was able to manage to take most of my classes online this semester this way I have more time to work on my hw and assignments. I feel a lot better currently about my online classes and I don not feel as stressful as I was getting before. However, I know that I would not be able to take every single class online, So I had some plans in mind for next semester as far as how to manage my time in order to be able to maintain a good grade at school.

  30. So far this semester has been going well. I have completed all assignments and am achieving good grades. Time management has been one of the biggest challenges I have faced so far. I have never taken an online class before and was having a hard time putting aside the required time to complete assignments in a calm and methodical manner. Instead I found that I was trying to do too much in a short amount of time and felt I was rushing through assignments and not completing them in a manner that I felt lived up to my full capabilities. I have learned how to better organize and schedule my study time around my work schedule and personal life and hope to find a balance between the three that leaves me feeling fulfilled and not as if I am not giving my all in any one area. Since I have been taking online classes though I feel a better sense of self achievement because it is up to me to complete the tasks and assignments that are due and thus have more confidence in my abilities both academically and in the work place. I am excited and looking forward to continuing my educational journey and have already acquired skills that will help me succeed in the future.

  31. I am a part of Generation Z. This generation was when girls had more control over their lives. When they would focus on school and grades instead of chasing boys on the playground. This generation is when technology had begun to change the world. With knowing things about my generation, I have been able to assess what the right career should be for me. Because this generation is based on technology and all it's advances, I am able to focus my major and career choice accordingly. I was going to be an artist for my career, however, as I was looking at the possibilities for careers I realized that being an architectural and civil drafter would be a more realistic choice. I chose this as a career because I get to do what I love and get paid for it. Also, people get to see it on display and all I had to do was draw what someone wanted or just a sketch I was working on.

  32. Some tips I would give my friend before going into an important interview would be to just relax. Try to not be over confident and be yourself. I know those sound cheesy, however, when you are being interviewed for a job, sometimes it can feel more like an interrogation than a conversation. Just remind yourself that you got this and try to not stutter as much as possible. Being relaxed and reviewing questions they may ask previously, can help with your overall performance when you are talking with the interviewer. Just remember it's a conversation, so you shouldn't feel scared or guilty. Being nervous is completely normal, just try to shake them off as much as possible. If you can do these things then you should be able to get the job, or at least made a good impression for them to remember. You want them to remember you in a good way.

So far this semester is going great for me. I am doing good in all of my classes and I plan on keeping it that way. I have been able to maintain on track and keep up to date with work and homework. The roadblock I have encountered is work. My shifts have changed and they are getting in my school hours. I get off work at 4:20 and my math class starts at 4:30 so I have a 10 minute window to make it to class but I have talked to the professor about is and she was fine with it. I hope my shifts change back to where they were before.

What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?

The tips I would give to a friend are my own experience. I would him/her that they need to dress proper attire as in business and fashionable way so that the person who is interviewing you becomes interested for how well dressed and organized you are. Answer the questions professionally and not stress about how hard the question is, just be you and answer to the best you can. Smile more often because customers like seeing a happy worker. Lastly, never ask question in the middle of the interview, always wait until it's over then the interviewer will be happy to answer any question you have.

  34. Tips for a friend on resumes and interviews.

I would tell that friend that in order to be successful, he or she needs to be confident. It is imperative to be appealing to the person hiring. If you show up to an interview poorly dressed and ungroomed, you could give that employer the wrong impression, so first impressions are an enormous deal. Second, always go to an interview with possible questions in your mind that they could bring up. Focus on reciting important facts or useful information about yourself and do not skimp on your skills, just make them relateable to the job at hand. Good eye contact is always important as well as a firm, but not to strong, hand shake. People like to know that a person feels comfortable when they are being questioned, making confidence a big factor in an interview. When it comes to resumes, keep it limited to one or maybe at most two pages. People who are hiring want to be able to skim through your paper and see what you have done at a glance, they do not have time to sit and read everyone's resume word for word. Usually bullet points of skills are useful as well as a history of your last three jobs. EVERY resume needs references. I do not care where the references are, but keep at least three references to people you have previously worked with on it. DO NOT leave a best friend, sister, or parent as a reference because they will most likely have to be one sided and sell you. Leave a previous employer, associate or even a teacher.

  35. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?

First off, it's important to have a copy of your resume. Said resume should be double checked for errors, clean, and have only relevant information. You should bring a copy of your resume for each person that is interviewing you. Along with your resume, you should bring a copy of your references. It's important to dress appropriately. It depends on what type of job you're interviewing for, but I recommend solid/neutral colors. I would avoid any loud colors and patterns. A blazer and slacks are always a good choice. Hair should always be styled appropriately. In regards to the interview, make sure to sit up straight, have a firm handshake, and greet everyone with a smile. I prepare myself for interviews by making a list of commonly asked questions and writing a complete answer to each of them with a relevant example. Practicing these questions in front a mirror will help you be prepared for your interview. During the interview, you should maintain a pleasant demeanor and eye contact. Take your time answering each question, and don't be afraid to pause if you get nervous. After the interview, shake everyone's hand and thank them for meeting with you. I recommend sending a thank you email within the next 24-48 hours. The most important aspect of an interview, I think, is to be confident in your abilities. Even if you don't believe that you're the best candidate, you should remind yourself of your worth and what you can contribute to the company.

  36. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?
There are a few important tipis in which I would offer to a friend before an interview. First off I would discuss their resume and make sure that it is no more than one page long that way it is not too much information and it is easy to read. The facts should be brief, cover all important topics about themselves, yet also straight to the point. It is important to dress modestly for an interview that way you are looked upon as a professional person who will take their job seriously. Before an interview I find it most helpful practicing in front of a mirror and also researching possible questions in which will be asked during the interview so that nothing seems too surprising and you well aware as to how to respond to the questions because you practiced days prior. Be sure to always speak about yourself in a positive manner and state all your strengths. When asked why you left your previous job make sure to give positive reasons. Lastly, be confident because it gives the interviewer a sense that you came well prepared and are mature enough to take on the job. I think that it is also important to write a simple note to the interviewer after the interview thanking them for taking their time for you and how much you want the job so they know how serious you are about it.

  37. What tips would you give to a friend before he or she interviewed for a job that was really important?
The tips that I would give my friend before an interview, is to be calm and to not stress. To dress accordingly, make sure it’s appropriate as well. Then to make a quick review on the resume and to see if there are any typos and make sure it’s clean and brief. Also, to show any references, because that’s pretty much important. To make sure they research the job they have applied to just to show interest and that you really want to work there. Make sure you look interested and make constant eye contact with the person interviewing you.

Make a comment about how this semester is going for you. Are you facing any challenges or roadblocks? How can you deal with them?
This semester is going pretty well for me. Especially in this course. I am learning things about me that I didn’t think I would of know. I discovered my personality type, my weaknesses and strength, my job type and the skills that I need for that job. I really have learned a lot. Some roadblocks that I still encounter is that I keep procrastinating. I always end up doing homework on Sunday night. Especially for this course. I keep telling myself that I want to start doing this course homework on Monday but I can’t. I don’t really know what keeps from doing so. I’m pretty sure it’s just laziness. I really need to overcome this weakness/roadblock.

    1. Hi Jocelyn Romano,
I am on the sam page with you about doing homework late in this class and usually doing them last minute. For me it is really laziness. If I really wanted to I could have these assignments for this class done every Tuesday, but I just slack off. But bad habits have to change and I am going to try to have the assignments for this class done earlier and stop slacking off. Its only for the best.

  38. Hello class,
This semester is going well for me. I am doing good in my classes, hard work pays off. I am getting better study habits that help me with my classes. Its a little tough though because of work, but I am doing good and thats all that matters. Other than work there is n major road block for me. This is my first semester where I am relaxed with my classes and not stressing out like crazy about them. I take my weekends and study so that I can fully understand what is being taught in my classes. I do get a little tired because of work but thank god for coffee.

  39. The advice I would give my friend about their job interview is to go into the interview with a positive attitude thinking that when you walk out of there you got the job no matter what. When arriving to the interview, you should be dressed in a manner that you believe will get you the job and to act professional throughout the interview in order to give yourself a better chance at landing the job. Confidence is key when talking to the interviewer and being hesitant with words and being nervous will most likely result in a bad interview. Be prepared to answer plenty of questions that may be asked during the interview because when you re able to reply to tough questions with good answers, it shows that you have done plenty of research on this job opportunity and that you are serious about getting the job, which would be appreciated by the interviewer. Also, in your resume, you should have great details about your recent jobs and include all types of skills that you have to offer when applying for this job. Even if some skills seem to be useless, you never know how important that particular skill might be for this job you are applying for and could even be the deciding factor on whether or not you get the job you have dreamt about getting for so long.

    1. I think that that is great advice. I agree with you and I too wrote similar things in my post. The one thing I left out in my post was including a resume; I do think that it is always great to show up with another copy of your resume so that they can look it over just in case they hadn't had time to overlook your other resume or if there is more than on person interviewing you. Great job!

  40. employment trends presented in the career chapter. How will these employment trends affect your future career plans?

Well these days do Come down hard with technology, things are rapidly changing towards being very tech savvy but with the goals I have in mind and the career I want, after going through the chapter it seems fairly safe to say that the careers I'm pursuing are not in much danger of becoming replaced by a machine or computer system so trends can fly right by me and I'll still be aiming for the same things that are in demand today and will be in the future

  41. This semester is interesting for me. I was on the right path and very focused when I came back to school during the Spring semester but feel as though I may be over whelmed as of right now. I have been falling behind on work in two of my classes and it doesn't feel good. It doesn't help that I have been over my head with other responsibilities and my pregnancy, but I feel like I am just barely going to make it through this semester. I know I need to focus more and make sure that I stay on track, not spread myself too thin (which I am constantly doing), and remember what is the biggest goal I have (graduating college and providing a better life for my husband and four kids). I think focusing on the now can benefit a person but it is also about looking ahead and seeing what it is that ones real goal truly is.

  43. So far this semester is going great for me. I have been able to keep my grades high and I will work hard to continue to keep them that way. I have been able to get a ton of help from some friends that better understand the material in some of my classes such as in biology. Though some classes seem to get hard in keeping my attention, which I know is not good. I need to find a way to stay more focused in class. My toughest class is Bio Lab mostly because I do not work well with experiments. Though I do get help from the people in the class, which allows me to understand what to do. My favorite class is my Bio 130 because I know many people in it and also because the class introduces interesting topics. I feel like I have learned a good amount and we are not even halfway through the semester.

  44. My generation is the New Millennial. I think that the description that was given in college scope is pretty accurate to how my generation is. I know that I myself, along with a lot of my friends, are very driven and are determined to be someone that does something good. One thing that college scope pointed out was that a lot of employers are going to be looking for more short-term work instead of long careers and I think that this could hurt us but also give us the edge we need to be the best at what it is we have chosen to do. I've worked the company that I am employed with for the past 11.5 years and I have seen this happen. It doesn't feel good seeing people being treated like they are just a number, but it is very motivating to me to be that much better. I know it may sound strange but when one strives to be the best at whatever they're doing it can lead to pride, honor, and ultimately greatness.
On that note, if I had a friend that was going in for an interview I would advise them to go in prepared. Be prepared to answer lots of questions about their performance and achievements, but also how they could be an asset at whatever company or job they are applying for. I would tell them to do research on the company and to be prepared to ask at least one question. Also, I would remind them of the obvious: dress appropriately for the job you are applying for, pay close attention to what the interviewer is saying, and sell yourself. One should have confidence but not be cocky and remember to smile.

  45. Tips for a Job
I would give them advice from my personal experience. When you are introduced to the manager/interviewer/etc. always make sure to be confident and personable, but make sure to keep in professional. Tell them about how and what you plan to bring to their company. Be prepared to be asked about your strengths and weakness. Don’t say you don’t have any weaknesses because that simply is not true. One thing employers look for is outgoing people who always take initiative. Once the interview is complete, make sure to follow up with it. It shows true interest in the job and employers take note of it!

    1. My Generation
I believe that my generation is Generation Z. Technology has changed our world immensely and is incorporated into our everyday lives. My generation has hopes that is can be used as a "tool to change to world" but I think that it could also cause some damage. We have become so reliable on it now I can't imagine what it is going to be like in the future. Also, women play an important role in society today. They are starting to take more of the "male gender" role. Women are continuing on with their education to receive college degrees to help get more "professional"/ higher up jobs.

  47. Review the employment trends presented in the career chapter. How will these employment trends affect your future career plans?

The employment trends will affect my future career plans as a large animal veterinarian because the job growth is growth for large animal veterinarians are growing a small percentage each year. And the E- Commerce can be effective too because with things being purchased over the internet it can easily be lost or stolen or misplaced. which as a veterinarian your job kind of depends on being able to treat those animals with those products you ordered. This has actually happened to a veterinarian that I know. All his items that he had shipped in the mail were lost so he was not able to do his job. The communication technology could be some what helpful in my field because it will make it easier to get ahold and communicate with other veterinarians.

  48. This semester has definitely been a challenge for me. In middle school I developed terrible homework habits that up until now I have been trying to break. I have been getting better at it, but I procrastinate a lot. On my free, I would watch TV or just play on my phone. To replace this bad habit, I kept myself busy every second of the day. I still do this. Which is why now I feel like I have no time to do my college work. Between public transportation rides, classes, and work, I find it difficult to juggle homework and sleep. These habits have definitely been roadblocks in helping me successful although I am getting better at it. When I wake up in the morning I now make a list of everything that has to be accomplished and typically by what time I would like it to be done. I can only expect to get better and better at not procrastinating.
